Spot Prawns
Spot prawns (Pandalus platyceros) are harvested by trap from the deep, rocky floor of the Pacific Ocean. They are usually a reddish-brown colour with distinctive white spots on their abdomens. They are harvested for only short periods of time throughout the year and are valued for their firm texture and sweet, delicate flavour. Spot prawns are available live, frozen at sea, and as tails.
